We believe in buildings. We depend on people.
We need your help today to protect the best of yesterday for the city of tomorrow.
Historic Richmond is dedicated to preserving our city’s distinctive character, sparking revitalization and championing our architectural past and future. But we can’t do it alone. Our mission depends on the generous support of donors and volunteers.
Your tax-deductible donations and gifts support Historic Richmond’s efforts to protect our city’s architectural authenticity for future generations. Your money will go directly to fund the operations of the organization, maintenance of the buildings we currently own, and the buying of new buildings. It will help finance events and educational programs that we hold throughout the year.
Most importantly, every dollar will help keep Richmond culturally vibrant, historically authentic, and architecturally distinct for generations to come.

Ways to Give
There are many ways that you can help play a role in preserving Richmond’s history. Below are a few of the ways that you can help support Historic Richmond’s ongoing mission.
Annual Fund
The Historic Richmond Annual Fund supports not only the operations of the organization but also the maintenance of the buildings we currently own, the buying of new buildings, events, and educational programs we hold throughout the year. All gifts are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.
Corporate Gift Matching
Historic Richmond gladly accepts all gift-matching from any corporation. Please mail gift-matching forms to the Historic Richmond headquarters along with your annual fund gift. Our development staff will assist you in any way possible, and can follow-up with your company on its gift-matching policy.
Legacy Society: Planned Giving
Leave a lasting legacy by naming Historic Richmond in your will. If you have already included Historic Richmond in your estate plans please let us know.
Tribute Gifts
Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to memorialize or honor an individual who holds Richmond close to his or her heart. Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to honor an individual for a birthday, anniversary or holiday. Your gift will help to increase awareness about the importance of Historic Richmond’s mission, as well as make an individual feel special about his or her own personal contribution. The honoree will receive a card telling them of the gift made in their honor. Both the giver and the honoree will be listed in our Annual Report.
Foundation Gifts
Private family foundation or other foundations gifts, restricted or unrestricted, are warmly accepted. We rely on the charitable trusts of several families and private individuals to help offset daily operating expenses and to take on new projects in the Richmond community.
Corporate Giving
Corporate gifts and sponsorships, whether restricted or unrestricted, are greatly appreciated and are honored specially in our Annual Report.
Sponsorships
Sponsorships are an effective way to increase awareness about your business or organization in the community. Individual and corporate sponsorships help Historic Richmond with various educational programs and events.
Your individual name and/or company logo would be displayed at events and in our print and digital marketing materials, including our Annual Report, website and monthly e-newsletter.
In-Kind Gifts
Historic Richmond graciously accepts items and services that would benefit our mission and daily operations.
