Tonight’s Quoit Club Tour & Weather Update

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather. In true Richmond fashion, they are predicting late afternoon summer showers typical for this time of year. We WILL continue with tonight’s Quoit Club RAIN or SHINE so please remember to bring your rain gear and walking shoes for tonight’s walking tour!

However, please check the Historic Richmond Facebook, website, and Instagram for weather updates in case of severe, prolonged weather i.e. lightning and continuous storms lasting more than an hour.

About Walking Tour:
All Quoit Club Members are invited to put on your walking shoes and join us for a tour lead by guides from The Richmond Tour Guys of the historic Church Hill Neighborhood!

We will meet at St. John’s Mews, south of Broad Street in the alley between 23rd and 24th streets. Experience the birthplace of a city while meandering through 240 years of architecture in Richmond’s oldest residential neighborhood. Every house and street has a unique, entertaining, and thought-provoking story that weaves in with the whole of Richmond, both past and present.

Highlights include: Historic Richmond’s Pilot Block, Shockoe Bottom Overlook, Elmira Shelton’s House, Richmond Hill, Richmond’s oldest row houses, the story of Richmond’s most famous Union Spies, Elizabeth Van Lew and Mary Elizabeth Bowser, and more!

Tour Times:
Guides will lead 4 tours that will last about 40 minutes and cover about a 1 mile route. Please wear your walking shoes. Some sidewalks have more “historic charm” than others and may have uneven terrain.
6:15 – 7:00 p.m.
6:30 – 7:15 p.m.
7:00 – 7:45 p.m.
7:15 – 8:00 p.m.

Parking Directions: 
St. John’s Mews is located south of Broad Street in the alley between 23rd and 24th Streets… Street parking is available.
