Preservation and Sustainability

A Panel discussion with Quinn Evans Architects and the University of Richmond about the tie between preservation and sustainability. We will explore what that means for valuing existing buildings, carbon reductions and energy efficiency goals, and how reusing existing buildings are key to making an impact on climate change. We will then examine how these concepts fit into the larger history and goals of the University of Richmond and how they have been applied to the current renovation of Ryland Hall, the University of Richmond’s first campus building.

Panelists:
Danielle Porter | Director of Preservation, Historic Richmond
Charles Tilley, AIA | Principal, Quinn Evans
Julia Siple, AIA, LEED AP BD+C | Director of Sustainability, Senior Associate, Quinn Evans
Rob Andrejewski | Director of Sustainability, University of Richmond
