Beyond the Boulevard | Celebration & Art Auction
The “Beyond the Boulevard” event is a party, art show and art auction designed to raise awareness of the potential needs, challenges and opportunities of revitalization and infill of residential and commercial buildings in Scott’s Addition and The Boulevard. We will celebrate the revitalization of this historic neighborhood at the Hofheimer Building’s loft and rooftop spaces featuring unforgettable rooftop views of Scott’s Addition and the city.
Preservation through Art – Photographers are invited to participate and capture their vision of the buildings and streetscapes of this rapidly evolving neighborhood. Scott’s Addition and The Boulevard serve as a model for Richmond’s future through the rehabilitation of old and the addition of new buildings and places. Change is coming to this important gateway industrial neighborhood in Richmond. With this event we will preserve the buildings and streetscapes through the art of photography.
Silent Auction – At the party, you will be able to bid on the photographs in a silent auction. Win your favorite piece of art and take home a piece of Richmond history! 50% of the winning bids from the silent auction will go toward Historic Richmond’s continued efforts in preservation, revitalization, rehabilitation and advocacy, while the other 50% will go to the photographers who help make Richmond the creative community it is.
Local Food and Beverages – Scott’s Addition is quickly becoming the hottest spot for local cuisine, craft brewed beer and award-winning distilleries. Attendees can sample selections from the newest businesses in Richmond on the rooftop lounge and second floor loft of the recently renovated Hofheimer Building.
Infill Design Competition Exhibit – Historic Richmond is holding the first Infill Design Competition for architects and designers of all levels to create a new building for an old neighborhood. The entries and winners of the competition will be on display at the event.
