Quoit Club | Gallery5

Gallery5 is located in Jackson Ward, and is the best-preserved of Richmond’s few surviving nineteenth-century firehouses. Steamer Company Number 5 was built in 1883 to continue the function of firefighting and police station for the Jackson Ward neighborhood begun in 1849 by a previous building on the site. The gallery opened its doors in 2005 in an effort to save this landmark, it has become an anchor to the neighborhood and showcases cutting-edge contemporary art exhibitions that are designed to further innovation in our region and encourage dialogue among artists and audiences.
